First day at home!

We arrived home from the hospital at 3:00 on Thursday, June 4th. As we were driving home Robbie and I kind of looked at each other and asked "What now?". All that planning, all the emotions, all the anticipation and now she is finally here! Robbie is such a proud daddy...in his words "She melts your heart." Just last week I was anticipating my last weekend being pregnant and wondering what she looks like. Now I know..she is gorgeous! Robbie and I are so overjoyed and overwhelmed with emotion over our newest little family member. Even Annie gave her a welcome home kiss, by licking her face a few times. Thank you to everyone for all your love and support the last 9 months.

Ella Grace

It was a long LONG day and night, but Ella Grace is finally here! I was in labor for about 14 hours and had a long delivery (1 hour, 7 minutes of pushing). Ella was very alert and opening her eyes..even smiling. She found her little tongue in the process and kept sticking it out at everyone. Since she came so late last night and we were all so tired she has been in the nursery since 11:15 last night. We are anxiously waiting for the nurse to bring her to us. She got the chills earlier this morning and they are trying to get her temperature back up to "normal".
She has a plenty of hair (now I can use all those bows) and is a perfect, beautiful baby girl. Thanks to everyone for your warm wishes and thoughtfulness! We can't wait for you to meet her!

39 weeks!

Tomorrow is the big day! We will FINALLY get to meet our precious baby girl. I will be going into the hospital tonight around 10:00pm to get hooked upto an IV and monitored. The plan is to induce around 6:30 Tuesday morning and the doctor has every hope that we will be delivering by noon! I have loved being pregnant and the last 9 months seem to have flown by. The last 3 days however seem to have been standing still. We are so blessed and so happy to be starting our family!
June 2, 2009 IS going to be an amazing day and one Robbie and I will cherish forever.

38 weeks!

We had our doctor's appointment today and we have made some very good progress. I guess all those extra fun contractions were doing their job! We are now 2 cm dilated and 70% ephased. The baby had a great heartbeat... 146 bpm. Next week is the big day! Induction day... I will actually be going in on Monday night @ 10:00 p.m. to get hooked up to an IV and monitored. The doctor has high expectations we should be having a baby by 12 noon on Tuesday, June 2nd!!!

hiccups, belly kicks, contractions OH MY!

I have been having lots of contractions this weekend. I'm hoping that is a good sign that we will have made some progress over this last week by our appointment on Tuesday (our FINAL appointment!!). I have just started to get to the point where I am not sleeping much at all during the night. I find myself even more uncomfortable as I switch sides when sleeping, due to the fact that the side I am sleeping on has fallen asleep. My belly has been itching like crazy (bring on the stretch marks here at the end) b/c it is getting bigger and bigger every day. Even Robbie looked at me today and was like "WHOA your belly is huge!"
She has the hiccups several times a day, in fact as I am writing she has them right now. I have been getting lots of jabs from elbows and knees, some of which hurt coming from such a tiny person. I'm sure Ella is just as uncomfortable as I am, all cramped in there. I know once she is here it'll all be worth it. Counting down the days... 8 days to go!!!

And so it begins...

Most of the time I am able to go back to sleep...tonight is a different story. I have been up for an hour now w/ leg cramps, mild heartburn, and nothing like a contraction to keep you from getting some zzzz's.........
At least others in the house are getting some sleep. Robbie is "dead" asleep in the middle of the bed and Annie is sleeping in my spot under the covers. Which one do you move? Annie may be only 10 pounds, but she is a heavy little thing to push over in the middle of the night.
They say you start getting anxious thoughts and having strange dreams about the BIG DAY. Those are running through my head constantly, as I lie in bed trying to go back to sleep. June 2nd is right around the corner (11 days), but I am anxiously awaiting to meet our little girl.
Signing off: One tired mommy-to-be

37 weeks!

We had our 37 week appointment today. We are now FULL TERM! I am dilated 1cm and am glad to report the swelling has gone away (for now)! We also had our 37 week u/s and Ella is head first in position. The u/s showed she is very VERY cramped and her little fists are still RIGHT in front of her face, blocking any view of her sweet face. I am hoping with all the pressure and contractions I have been feeling the last few days will keep things moving right along. With any luck she will come before June 2nd!!

36 weeks!

We had our doctor's appointment last week. As of Wednesday I was not dialated any, but have definetely been having contractions the last few days. I will be interested to see where "we" are on Tuesday when we go back. Ella is measuring at about 35 weeks (still on the smaller side as she has been). We will have our 37 week u/s this week and will hopefully know more! Stay tuned...

4D u/s take 2...

At 34 weeks, 2 days I guess things are a little cramped! She still had her little hand in front of her face, only this time it was the left one. Either way we got some pretty cool pictures of our little girl from the inside. It won't be long before she is here!

Ella's Nursery

The nursery is finally coming together. Here are the latest photos of Ella's new room!
